Atmosphere
We understand that atmosphere is a vital part of drinking and enjoying good beer. We have created a warm, cosy and relaxed space that is free of technologic al distractions – we value the good old fashioned notion of talking and socialising, just like the old pubs used to offer!
Many of the tables and furnishings at the Bow Legged Beagle are made from recycled wood and pallets. Using these natural materials, cozy hues and warm lighting we offer a peaceful and comfortable space for you to enjoy your tipple.

Good people to a pub is the mortar to a brick wall, the holding ingredient that makes a place truly special.
At the Bow-Legged Beagle we welcome all who enjoy ale, good company and enjoy diversity in all its forms (with no prejudice). It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are from, we welcome all visitors to come and enjoy what we offer, as well as each other’s company.
Not only do we enjoy the company of good people, but we welcome dogs to join us for some dog beer (water!) and a dog treat from the bar.
As the Bow-Legged Beagle is located close to New Brighton parade, it is the ideal watering hole for humans and dogs alike!

Our Team
Many ask us why the pub is called the Bow- Legged Beagle, and reason is that Bobby our family pet beagle inspired us to name it after him, you can see him and his legs in the photo.
As you can see, he’s full of character on the outside and the inside. You may get to see him now and again at the pub!

Hi, my name is John and I'm the co-founder of The Bow Legged Beagle Pub, together with Andy and Bobby the beagle I've created my own little beer paradise in New Brighton.
After years of pondering, procrastination and home brewing (with varying success) I decided to take the plunge, pack in my Civil Engineering job and jump into the beer peddling trade with both feet and do you know what? I'm so glad I did!
For me The Beagle is the realisation of a dream shared by a couple of mates and a bow legged dog.
I hope you enjoy this place as much as we do, cheers!

Hi I'm Andy, I'm the other half of the beagle team.
Having worked in retail for my entire working life it was time to do something different. Together with my good mate john we have created a fantastic micro - pub.
The vision was to create a place which celebrates locally produced cask and craft ale and where everyone is warmly welcomed, a place for conversation free from distraction with many wagging tails.
It's been an absolute blast working together to bring the vision to life to create a place we are proud of. We have met great people who like us love great beer.
We look forward to seeing you down at the beagle.
